McHenry County Small Business Transformation Program

The McHenry County Small Business Transformation Program is offering a grant program for small businesses to help aid in transforming, shifting or pivoting business models or operations toward profitability. Offer grants in the amount of $15,000-$50,000 will be awarded to small businesses based on an initial lottery (depending on number of applicants) and then those selected will be reviewed and awarded. There is approximately $350,000 available for funding.

The application window opened December 1, 2020 and will be accepting applications until December 31, 2020. There is a long list of eligibility requirements. A few of those requirements have been listed below:

  • Businesses must have a brick-and-mortar presence in McHenry County
  • Located in areas considered to be low-to-moderate income areas
  • 5-49 employees
  • Must have been in operation for 2 years as of 10/01/2020
  • Must have been profitable in 2019
